Kahaani ki Kahaani ka jawaab nahi !!

Before booking tickets i wished to watch Paan Singh Tomar but my friends said Kahaani Kahaani !! i said ok n went ahead...but believe me..it was tooooo gooooodddddddd....i never expected or imagined this movie would have such a brilliant storyline...such smart camera work and background score...and strong performance by all its actors..Vidya Balan - you have become my fav now...Kat might be beautiful than others, Kareena might be rocking and have that wow factor...but you are that someone which bollywood needs desperately for its survival !!

I am sure by now most of us would have seen the movie and we all know how grippy dis one is..it keeps you engaged and on hook throughout the movie...with the way and manner things happen in the movie, by the time we near the end all of us would have surely come up with our endings as in who her husband will be, what would have happened, etc..what i mean to say is you would have thought that you had solved and deciphered the mystery and considered urself the Sherlock Holmes and thats the moment when you exclamate and say...wait a minute what is happening here , oh my god...i never thought this would happen man...kya suspense tha...and that five minutes is where this movie clicks with the audience...

All the co-actors justified their roles and Mr Khana, am sure girls would have gone gaga over him...his speech delivery and acting was so innocent, cute and calm, everyone would have loved him and i am sure he will have a great future ahead...

What I personally like about this movie is the way it has shown Kolkatta and the way it has romanced with its culture and Kolkatta itself..camera work is brilliant..what is also narrowly shown is the current Indian political scenario and takes a dig at it..there is a problem in the system itself..

I giving you the storyline would not do any justice to the movie..if you go without any idea about its story then its surely an enjoyable and thrilling experience for you...

In the end though, the lines in which she explains to colonel about her feeling of being pregnant and belief that her husband is still with her is very touchy and emotional...you turn to your partner and look in her eyes...you will find tears

Vidya Balan has been called as the new Aamir Khan in media very recently...but i would say both are definitely different and the way they carry themselves is different and there is no point in comparing them together..

In an industry riding on larger than life super star heroes, Vidya Balan stands tall with her women centric movies that deliver both commendable performance and meaningful content.
Kahaani is a film that I would just urge you to watch. You want to watch it for the story, you want to watch it for the character B(V)idya, you want to watch it for the actor Vidya Balan

I say its a 5 out of 5 !!

Is it Luck or Destiny or Hardwork or something else ??

it was in first week of october 2011 wen d news of asian paints visiting d campus spread like a fire...all marketing students flocked to library to get der hands on kotlers and ckprahlads all wanting to b dat special one...4 days d college wore a deserted look...asian paints came and tuk 2 among us n went in a flash...dashing hopes n dreams of 63 odrs...now comes d question - d ppl who gt selected had luck on der side or was it der destiny or was it a gift for der sheer hardwork and if we put it odr way round - d ppl who missed d boat wer victims of bad luck or result of de nt wrkng hard to achieve d goals or is d reason altogedr different and one i cud imagine is d mood of d panel and der intuition...

companies came n went...everytime der wer ppl who wud get shortlisted fr interview but wont get selected...for dos who get selected wishes pour in and for dos unlucky a common statement was made 'der is something special in store for u'...well i was one among many to get irritated by such statements...at d end of many processes ppl wud debate wedr d ppl who gt selected really deserved it...will de survive in dat organisation..and to my experience der wer certain proceses which wer very irritating...d process was unbelievable...

anodr question here is - one shud get placed for d sake of getting placed or just on monetary factor or wait n wait till u get d company n profile u r lookin for ?? bcz frm my wat i hv seen till now ppl hv taken decisions in a hasty manner...except fr a few who really waited fr gud opportunities all odrs hv hurriedly taken decisions n joined companies..so ppl who gt placed are happy dat dey gt placed or do de think deep inside de cud hv waited for anodr opportunity...

i personally feel its not a do or die battle..so one can wait till he gets wat he wants and always wanted !!

so d question remains d same, is it luck or destiny or hardwork or something else ??

Back to Blogging ways :-)

one thing i have learnt in past one yr is wat and d way u think is not the way odrs think n feel...one has to be selfish(thou m still nt)...which prompted me to strt blogging all d way again...thou i was not a big player wen it came to bloggin in past but in future i feel i will be...d experiences i hv had in past 1-2 yrs hs led me leading a life in an altegdr new direction..i personally feel dis was d yr i transformed frm a boy to a man..happy holi n happy women's day to everyone...here we go nw wit my second innings...

No One Killed Jessica - review

I went into this movie having half knowledge about the jessica lal murder case....but after watching d movie i will claim it to b a real eye opener for the common man !! it shows hw strong d politicians are and wat all de can do to keep demselves in d 'khurchi' and save d ass of der children frm watever criminal acts de commit !! the instances in d movie took me back to one of my friends speech on power and poilitics and found out hw true he was !! but if we people do stand united and fight against dis devils den justice will be served !!

movie starts off really well and straight to d point...the incidents hv been  properly covered and properly sequenced...1st half is real catchy but in 2nd half d movie drags a bit but u do get emotional towards d climax...strong performances frm both vidya balan and rani mukherjee...seeing rani after a long time on d large screen but she didnt disappoint...d linkup to d rang de basanti scene was brilliant !!

It's interesting how the narrative ties the crime to Delhi's arrogance and abuse of power where every conversation starts with, "Janta nahi main kaun hun?" It is always about the people in power !!

Well it also shows the responsibility of the Media….its duty is not only to make the world aware abt various frauds n scams n corrupt ministers but also to safeguard d people of the nation and help in claimin justice for the innocent people….

One dialogue which i liked was “Someone with a pistol in his hand, power in his head, decided that a life was cheaper than a glass of drink”...it explains everything wat d curent scenario is !!

The narration is gripping, the music score uplifting, the screenplay tight enough to allow for very few slippages..

Overall, a brilliant movie and my heart goes out for Jessica lal and her fly for d struggle in achieving justice !!!
I will give it 8/10 and 10/10 for d justice !!!

Truth will always prevail no matter how big u are !!

The year it has been !! - Part 2

The new year started wit no internet connectivity for d entire day....:( so d delay in posting part 2 !!

in part 1 we came across various scams and the year end didnt disappoint us, we saw another scandal coming into picture - 'CitiBank' wer d manager of the Gurgaon branch Shivraj Puri allegedly siphoned off funds taken as investments from high net-worth individuals into his personal account and three of his accomplices. the size of the fraud could be about Rs 300 crore. Luking out for a year nw witout ny scams n frauds...Peace !!! We also saw the Aarushi murder case getting closed due to lack of proper evidence…dis one really shocked me !! d case which had been goin on for long wit lots of twists n turns had no real proper ending..

The year belonged to our Environmental Minister Jairam Ramesh…in news almost every day…frm objecting to sanctioning the clearance for the second airport in Navi Mumbai to taking a stand in the recently held global summit and the Lavasa chapter…his view of SUVs playing major role in pollution and taking a dig at the BMWs…the controversial minister of the year !!

Looking back it has been wuite a controversial year !!

Lets not forget d moments which made India proud specially from d sports point of view...

Watever happened before, CWG was a huge success and India showed de can b host to such big events…As said India finished in a strong 2nd position behind Australia – our best result for years !!! performance in the Asian Games also didn’t dissappoint us…some unknown individuals came into the spotlight with der sparkling performance and India finished wit der best position in the rankings and no of medals in d history !!

The highlight of the year was Vishwanathan Anand becoming World no 1 in Chess rankings…proudest moment so far in a sport which has seen India go frm strength to strength !! Also who can forget our Badminton ace Saina Nehwal who rose to No 2 ranking before slipping to 4 as on dec 23…she won a hattrick of major tournaments making India proud…Indian cricket team ended with no 1 test ranking after defeating South Africa at Durban…Anodr golden moment for the nation…

Finally we will see the likes of M.Schumacher,Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso racing in India…the mega event will happen in Oct 2011 at Delhi and to add to it the final awards ceremony nite will b held in Delhi…this surely will take the brand India to a new level….and speaking of F1, we saw M.Schumacher returning to F1 after 3 years but dissappointed his fans by finishing in a lowly 9th behind his team mate Nico Rosberg…Sebastein Vettel won the formula 1 championship wit everyone exclamating ‘the kid has done it’…the major point to be noted is vettel never really lead the standings the entire year…he was always in contention for d
championship but never lead the table till dat moment…truly a born winner !!

The biggest event of the year was the football world cup which saw the Spaniards winning it for the very 1st time…..the likes of Ronaldo,Rooney and Messi failed and a new star was born – Diego Forlan – the mighty Uruguyan…the play of Spaniards was much appreciated and much credit went to Barcelona FC…South Africa rose to the occasion n played d role of the perfect host..d world cup did contribute to some intersting headlines…French wer in news rite frm the initial stages of the world cup with many questioning even der participation…the team backed out of der training session bcoz Anelka was asked to go back to France…Italy the defending champions were knocked out of the world cup in the group stages itself…Maradona lead Argentina undefeated to the quarterfinal stage wer de wer knocked out by the Germans… d whole world cup was a unique experience !!

IPL-4 had its own share of controversies…Chennai Super Kings finally emerged as champions…England retained Ashes with an innings victory over the australians leading d series 2-1…Ricky Ponting’s captaincy has been questionned with many saying its hight time he retires from international cricket…the match fixing scandal invlolving the pakistani cricketers was a big issue…our very own Sharad Pawar was elected as the President of the ICC…

One thing everyone wud remember well wud b the Tiger Woods scandal…wats d count now??? 119 ?? which was soon followed by John Terry who bedded his teammate’s gf n den Rooney….oh just forget it…

Chelsea won the Barclays Premier League and Manchester United finished runners up….Inter Milan led by den coach Jose Mourinho won hat trick of titles – League cup,Serie A and the champions League…Barcelona wer crowned the La Liga champions…the year also saw Jose Mourinho joining Real Madrid…

In tennis, Rafael Nadal won 3 of the  4 major events of the year and saw Roger Federer’s dip in form…

Dat covers up a bit of wat happened over d year….some issues n events may still not b covered here but ders more in store for tmw….happy reading !!

The year it has been !!

the year 2010 will cum to an end in a few hrs time and wit it cums d end of a decade !!! lukin back at the year, it has been very interesting witnessing both the sparkling moments and also some shameful !! well wonderful and worst moments are like two sides of a coin, de cant b seperated !!

the year began with the world still in recession but some countries lukd to hv come out of it..India meanwhile was progressing on all fronts economically...alongwith China it was the only country to end with positive results...Google faced problems in China and had to pull out of the country den...also who can forget d Wikileaks...one advantage is politicians n odr high officials r now very cautious on watever de r doin, givin speech or ny discussion,etc...entire world is on alert !!! The Barack Obama govt also failed to produce d results in d mid term polls raising questions on his efficiency in administration...The UK witnessed only for d 2nd time a hung parliament in the general elections and finally David Cameron became the Prime Minister...Ireland went into financial crisis and so wer some odr european countries...but the world cud witstand it to an extent...the conditions are improving in US but is still not back to its best...

The year witnessed Barack Obama visit India for d first time in his tenure as President of US...during the visit deals worth millions were finalised benefiting both the countries...It also saw the French president Sarkozy, UK Prime Minister David Cameron visit the country and crack some major deals !!

2010 cud well be titled as the year of 'scams'...it started with CWG and ended wit the 2G scam and the Radia tapes....although CWG was a success lateron, it left a black mark on d nation !! questions arised wedr India can host such games...Aiyar commented that d games r 'irrelevant to the common man' n criticised the govt for sanctioning billions of dollars for the games n said he wud b UNHAPPY if the games wer to finish successful'...Weeks b4 the start of d games, Indian media highlighted the poor consrtuction standards at several of the game venues...many more problems wer faced and now an investigation is being carried out and Suresh Kalmadi is being questioned regarding it...watever happened India finished in a strong 2nd position in the final standings behind Australia and England finished 3rd...who will d forget the Adarsh Society scam which forced then Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ashok Chavan to step down...Atleast 21 former bureaucrats are being asked by Maharashtra govt GAD about their involvement in handling the Adarsh file. The Adarsh society flats were originally meant for war widows n der dependents but former defence officers n kin powerful politicians n bureaucrats ended up getting membership...den came d father of all scams- 2G Scam..From the time allegations of misappropriation during the bidding for allocation of 2G spectrum surfaced, till Telecom Minister A Raja's ouster, high drama charged both politics in Delhi and Tamil Nadu.Spectrum scam has cost the government Rs 1.76 lakh crores..raja ignored the advice of the finance ministry, the law ministry and the telecom commission while allocating the spectrum, says the CAG report. Soon came the Radia tapes. Radia was a professional lobbyist n d tapes led to d govt and public accusation that these calls documented planning of the 2G scam along with odr criminal and unconstitutional malpractices. The discussion on dis topic can go on and on....

With dis scams, Congress's position has becum weak and for d demand of the JPC, entire winter session of the parliament was non-functional...BJP and odr parties boycotted the session...so was d position of Dr.Manmohan Singh, prime minister of India, questioned and his influence on d party...even opposition party asked for his resignation....

this was part one of my column 'the year it has been'...
part two tmw....

Megamind - review

heres my 1st movie review...thou its a month old one i wud like to speak n cument on it !!!

2010 has almost cum to an end and it has seen many 3D animated movies like d wonderful 'How to train your Dragon','Toy story 3','Despicable Me',etc....Megamind doesnt dissappoint us !!!

a brilliant movie !!! awesome stuff....the dialogues r too gud and d plot is brilliantly scripted.

megamind is a 3d animated film by Dreamworks Animation and Red Hour productions..the story revolves around the super villain - bad boy Megamind (Will Farell) who kills the superhero - good boy Metro man (Brad Pitt) and gets bored of living and ruling the city having no one to fight...he himself creates a new foe Titan (Hill) to fight but he instead of using the powers for saving d city n odr good guy stuff, sets out to destroy the world, forcing Megamind to save the city n act lik a good guy for the very 1st time..Megamind's plans luk brilliant but is easily tricked by other people which make him a funny criminal dan a scary one..

Ofcourse, wat fuels animated movies is the jokes. Megamind lacks a bit of it but some wer really funny..

the 3D effects wer satisfyin enough for me and de wer quite deep enough for an average 3D movie. The animation was not so stiff and locations and everything was very much detailed.

Overall, "Megamind" is a perfect family entertainer wit d lovable characters !!

'Megamind' 9/10 acc to me....totally recommended !!!

Hope to see more flicks come like dis in d future... seems that animated flicks hav cum a long way and continue to grow and become gr8 movies of all time...
